Mayor George Heartwell at Creating the SHIFT Workshop/     Masked Reveler presents Gift to Mayor

Keynote speaker, Mayor George Heartwell of Grand Rapids, Michigan, shared how his city made the shift toward sustainability and survived the downturn because of it. His story showcased the benefits and cost savings due to decisions based on the Triple Bottom line: Environment, Socila Equity, and Economy.  Of note, Mayor Hartwell recently addressed the United Nations Global Conference on Education for Sustainable Development in Europe communicating the same world message.
